Domingo de las Bárcenas y Lopez-Mollinedo Mercado (* 1880 in Madrid ; † March 11, 1969 ) was a Spanish diplomat.

Life

On January 19, 1930 Alfons XIII appointed him . with the Real decreto 19/1931 as third class ambassador to Secretary General of the Dirección general de Marruecos y Colonias of the Spanish colonial administration in Madrid. In 1934 he was sent as first class ambassador to the Consulate General at Fu'ad I. in Cairo in the Kingdom of Egypt . On June 11, 1939, he attended an audience with Pius XII. On December 17, 1942, Francisco Franco sent him to Pius XII. where he stayed until 1945. During this time Franco had the counselor Eduardo García Comin (1883–1968) with Benito Mussolini . From 1945 to 1948, Bárcenas was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s .

Domingo Bárcenas married Rosario de la Huerta y Avial, who died as his widow on January 9, 1973. Her son was Juan de las Bárecenas y de la Huerta, also an ambassador. His grandson was Jaime de las Bárcenas y von Franz (born July 24, 1943 in Lausanne)
