The Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology ( Latin : Collegium Sancti Alberti Magni ; also College of Saint Albert the Great , abbreviated DSPT) is a private university in Berkeley , California , USA . Carrier is the congregation of the Dominican .

In 1964 it was accredited by the state Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). At the same time, the university, founded in 1851, became the first Roman Catholic institution to become a member of the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) . In 2011, in addition to the DSPT, eight other member universities belong to this ecumenical and interreligious consortium, whose courses are attended by students from all universities united in it. The consortium is in turn a partner of the University of California, Berkeley and awards the academic degree of a doctor in association with it .
