Dominik Pichler

Dominik Pichler (* 9. March 1976 in Rosenheim ) is a German politician of the SPD and since October 2015 Mayor of Kevelaer . Pichler is married and has six children.

Career

After graduating from high school in Kevelaer in 1995 and completing community service, he studied law in Bonn . Subsequently, he was a trainee lawyer at the Fulda Regional Court . In mid-2005 he started his own business as a lawyer in Kevelaer and for ten years worked mainly as a criminal defense lawyer . While working, Pichler did his doctorate with Henning Radtke on a subject from violent criminal law. From 2013 to 2015 he was listed in the Focus Spezial ranking in the “Top Lawyers Criminal Law” category.

Pichler has been a member of the city council of Kevelaer since 2009 and ran for the office of mayor in 2015 against the incumbent Axel Stibi (CDU). He won this election on September 13, 2015 with a gap of 80 votes.
