The Dominicans settled in the West Bohemian town of Tachau an der Mies in 1331 and built a monastery here. The first monastery building was plundered and destroyed by the Hussites in 1427 , after which the Dominicans built a new monastery building. In 1616 a big fire destroyed the second monastery building so that the Dominicans had to leave the city of Tachov and did not settle here again.
