Eyendorf is a municipality in the Harburg district in Lower Saxony .

geography

Eyendorf is located in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park and east of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve . The community belongs to the joint municipality of Salzhausen , which has its administrative seat in the municipality of Salzhausen .

Eyendorf was founded in 1084 .

The council of the community Eyendorf consists of 11 councilors.

The honorary mayor Norbert Lühmann was elected on November 1st, 2016.

The Eyendorfer Windmühle from 1897 is owned by the “Association for the Preservation of Eyendorfer Windmühle e. V. “operated as a museum mill. It is part of the Lower Saxony Mühlenstraße .
The passage grave Eyendorf 1 is located in a group of birches on the Märtenberg, south of the village. The no longer complete large stone grave was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. BC as a megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK).

It is approx. 7 km to the A 7 motorway in the west of the municipality. Eyendorf is also located on the Winsen – Hützel railway line , which is mainly used by freight trains.
