The joint municipality of Salzhausen was founded by the regional reform in 1972. The combined municipality has an area of ​​14,815 hectares. It is located about 40 km south of the Hamburg metropolitan region in the Harburg district in northeastern Lower Saxony . The combined community consists of eight member communities with a total of 13 localities. It is a predominantly rural regional authority, characterized by agriculture, trade, industry and service companies.

Economy and Infrastructure

education

Primary schools are located in Eyendorf, Garstedt and Salzhausen. A high school as well as a grammar school, which now has four classes, are in Salzhausen.

Kindergartens

There are kindergartens in Toppenstedt, Eyendorf, Salzhausen, Vierhöfen, Garstedt and Wulfsen. There are integration groups in the Kindergartens Toppenstedt and Eyendorf. A total of around 400 places in the morning are used.
