geography

Districts

The municipality of Drage includes the districts of Drage, Stove, Drennhausen, Elbstorf, Schwinde and Krümse, which are located directly on the Elbe , as well as the three inland marshland villages of Hunden, Mover and Fahrenholz.

Stover Beach

The most famous place within Drage is the so-called Stover Strand. The sandy beach on the Elbe gives the appearance of a beach by the sea and is also subject to the tides of the North Sea. Stover Strand is also the namesake for the neighboring Stover Strand campsite.

history

On July 1, 1972, the communities Drage, Drennhausen, Elbstorf, Hunden, Schwinde and Stove were merged to form the Drage community.

Drage celebrated its 725th anniversary in 2003, but the district of Stove - where Stover Strand is also located - was mentioned in a document as early as 1162.
