Dominique Vésir (born January 19, 1956 in Pau ) is a former French football player .

Career

Vésir began playing football in his hometown of Pau, where he was discovered in 1971 by a talent scout from AS Saint-Étienne and was accepted into their youth team a year later. Between 1974 and 1977 he was a regular of the club's reserve team and as such achieved the title of third division champion in 1975 and 1977. In addition, he came in the course of the 1975/76 season on his first division debut and let this follow another game. So Vésir had thanks to his two missions in which he was able to contribute a goal, share in the win of the French championship in 1976 , but was no longer considered for the professional team. Because he did not prevail at Saint-Étienne, he was awarded to league rivals SEC Bastia in 1977 , but did not win the coach's trust there either and was only considered for one game in the league. He was not involved at all in making it to the final of the UEFA Cup .

Vésir did not return to Saint-Étienne in 1978 because he had an offer from the first division US Valenciennes-Anzin , for which he decided. Even if he had to fight relegation with the club in the north of France, he had a regular place there and kept it in the following seasons. Despite his place in the top eleven of a first division club, the professional decided in 1981 to go to the second division and signed with the Stade Rennes . With Rennes he failed in the first year on promotion; Although he reached this in the second year, he lost his regular place. He was able to fight back this in the first division season 1983/84 despite numerous new signings, but also had to accept the direct relegation. At the end of it, he decided to move to the second division club CS Thonon , with whom he played as a regular in the upper part of the table. At the age of 29, he decided at the end of the 1984/85 season to end his career after 129 first division games with 19 goals and 68 second division games with eight goals. He then worked as an insurance agent.
