Domnall

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Domnall , also: Domnall Donn or Domnall Dond , († 695 ) was king of the Irish-Scottish Empire Dalriada from 688 to 695 .

Life

Domnall succeeded his brother King Maelduin mac Conalls . Her father was Conall Crandomna . He must not be confused with the former King Domnall Brecc . Domnall died a violent death, although it is not clear whether he was treacherously murdered or died in battle. Probably during this time disputes broke out between the different dynasties of the Scots , which were based on the descendants of Fergus Mór mac Erc and those of his brother Loarn mac Erc and who asserted claims to power. Until now, this branch of the family had not played a role in the royal dignity. This changed with Ferchar Fota , Domnall's successor.
