Don Fardon (born August 19, 1943 in Coventry ; real name Donald Maughn ) is an English pop singer .
biography
His greatest hit parade was a cover version of the piece Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian) by John D. Loudermilk , which first reached number 20 in the US charts in 1968 and reached number three in the British singles charts at the end of 1970 came. In Germany , too , the single reached the top 10 of the charts in early 1971 .
Before this success, he was a singer in the Freakbeat - band The Sorrows , the 1965 Take a Heart came in the British singles charts at # 21st At the end of 1967 Don Fardon had a small hit in Germany with his version of the box-top title The Letter .
In April 1970 he was represented with Belfast Boy in the British singles charts. In 1973 Fardon was able to record a final chart success in the US charts at number 86 with the song Delta Queen , originally by a formation called Proudfoot. He released other cover versions, including Lola from The Kinks , but they were not very successful.
