Donald Anderson, Baron Anderson of Swansea PC (born June 17, 1939 in Swansea ) is a British Labor Party politician and a Life Peer Member of the House of Lords .

Life

Anderson attended Brynmill Primary School , Swansea Grammar School (now: Bishop Gore School ) and studied at Swansea University .

Anderson was from 1966 to 1970 for the constituency of Monmouth and from 1974 to 2005 for Swansea East MP in the House of Commons . This means he has been one of the MPs with a very long term in office in recent years.

In the 2005 election, he did not run for election, but was named Life Peer on June 28, 2005 as Baron Anderson of Swansea, of Swansea in the County of West Glamorgan . In addition, he was appointed Deputy Lieutenant , Deputy Lord Lieutenant , of West Glamorgan in February 2006 and is a member of the Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council . His son is former investment banker and columnist Geraint Anderson .
