Donald Campbell, sixth baron stratheden and Campbell (* 4. April 1934 , † 23. October 2011 ) was a British politician , who between 1987 and the entry into force of the House of Lords Act 1999 as the sixth baron stratheden and 6th Baron Campbell Member of the House of Lords .

Life

Donald Campbell was a descendant of Mary Elizabeth Scarlett Campbell , who was bestowed on January 22, 1836 the title of Baroness Stratheden, of Cupar in the County of Fife . Her husband John Campbell , a longtime Member of the House of Commons and later Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales and Lord Chancellor , was bestowed the title of Baron Campbell, of St Andrews in the County of Fife in 1841 . After the two titleholders died in 1860 and 1861, the two titles went together to their eldest son William Frederick Campbell .

Donald Campbell inherited the title of 6th Baron Campbell and Stratheden after the death of his father Gavin Campbell, 5th Baron Stratheden and Campbell on October 29, 1987 and became a member of the House of Lords , which he held until the House of Lords came into force Act on November 11, 1999.

After his death, his son David Anthony Campbell became heir to the title of 7th Baron Stratheden and Campbell.
