The Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium is a college football - stadium on the campus of the University of Arkansas in the American US city of Fayetteville in the state of Arkansas . It serves as the venue for the home games of the university's NCAA college football team, the Arkansas Razorbacks ( Southeastern Conference ). The stadium currently offers 76,800 seats. The pitch at Razorback Stadium was named Frank Broyles Field on November 3, 2007 .

history

The Razorback Stadium opened in 1938. It has been expanded several times. In 2001 the audience capacity was expanded from 50,019 to 72,000. In the 2001 expansion, the stadium received significant donations from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation . The addition to the name was then adopted.

The Razorback Stadium is not the only venue for the Razorbacks. two or three games per season are played at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock , about 300 kilometers from the University of Arkansas campus. This has been controversial. In 2001 it was decided that some home games would continue to be played at War Memorial Stadium for the next 15 years.

Currently, the stadium since 2017 is 160 million US dollars rebuilt and expanded. The south end with the Frank Broyles Athletics Center has been demolished and will be replaced by a new grandstand with boxes . The renovation should be completed by autumn 2018.
