Donato Alonso was a Mexican soccer player who had his most successful years at Club Necaxa .

biography

Alonso began his career in 1932 at Club Necaxa, with which he was Mexican champion straight away in the 1932/33 season .

He also played for other clubs, including CF Asturias in the 1936/37 season. After this station he returned to Necaxa and was again master with the Rayas in 1937/38.

After his active career he coached various teams, including those of the Club América as well as those of the CD Cuautla and the CD Zacatepec , with which he was relegated from the highest Mexican professional league at the end of the season in 1958/59 and 1961/62 .

Surname Alonso

In the 1930s there were several players in the Mexican league with the surname Alonso: the midfielder Sergio Alonso as well as the national players Benjamín Alonso (a defender ) and Manuel Alonso (a striker ). Due to the poor sources, it is not possible to determine whether these footballers (or at least some of them) were related to one another.
