The Dongqing Dam is a CFR dam on Beipan on the border of the Zhenning and Zhenfeng counties , 20 km northeast of the county capital of Zhenfeng in the Chinese province of Guizhou . The 150 m high dam builds up a reservoir of 955 million cubic meters and has an 880 MW hydropower plant with four turbines, each with an output of 220 MW . Construction began in 2005, the river was diverted in 2006, the reservoir has been dammed since 2009 and the first generator went into operation in the same year.
