Dopamine reuptake inhibitors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dopamine reuptake inhibitors ( DRI, Sorghum bicolor for D op a mine R euptake I nhibitors) are drugs that by blocking the dopamine transporter , the presynaptic uptake of the neurotransmitter dopamine inhibit and thus the extracellular increase concentration. DARI are used as stimulants and antidepressants for the treatment of depression , attention deficit disorders and obesity .

Medicines that only act as DARI have rarely come onto the market. Much more often , such drugs block the reuptake of noradrenaline at the same time and are accordingly referred to as selective noradrenaline / dopamine reuptake inhibitors (SNDRI) , e.g. B. Nomifensin . Triple reuptake inhibitors are also being developed.

Zinc is a natural dopamine reuptake inhibitor with a high level of selective binding to the dopamine transporter.
