Doppelpatt
A double stalemate is a position in chess in which both sides are stalemated . A double stalemate is an interesting topic in chess composition , but has no relevance for game practice: On the one hand, the occurrence of corresponding positions in normal play is practically impossible; on the other hand, in a stalemate it is not at all relevant whether the player who does not move could pull.

In addition to the two kings , at least four other stones are required for a Doppelpatt . There are several solutions for this, three of which are shown in Diagram 1 .
Doppelpatt with the largest number of stones
The other extreme is a double flat with the maximum number of stones possible. Computer analyzes have shown that a Doppelpatt cannot be achieved with a complete set of figures (in the best case one side can still make two moves). However, if a knight is struck on both sides , a double puncture is possible ( diagram 2 ).
