Double tires (also known as twin tires) are special types of tires in which two tires are mounted on two separate or one common rim on a steering knuckle or other axle mount.

Double tires are used to better distribute the axle load on the roadway, as is common with trucks and buses , or on another surface, such as a field. The rim construction prevents the two tires from touching under load.

An alternative for trucks is the super single tire , a single tire with extra width.

In motor sport were in the 1930s by the Union car at hillclimb used twin tires to the occurring forces increased side catch. In the 1970s, Scuderia Ferrari also experimented with a racing car with double tires.
