The double Schotstek is a knot for connecting two ropes of different thickness.

application

The double schotstek connects a thick or stiff rope or a hawser with a thin flexible rope or line. The knot strength is strongly dependent on the difference in thickness and the type and surface of the rope.

Knot

A bay is laid with the hawser . With the thin rope you first tie a simple sheet stake and then drive the loose end around the cable bay one more time and push the end through again.
