Doraha is a city in the Indian state of Punjab .

The city is part of the Ludhiana district . Doraha has Municipal Council status. The city is divided into 15 wards .

Demographics

The city's population is 25,424 according to the 2011 census. Doraha has a gender ratio of 898 women per 1000 men and thus a male surplus typical for India. The literacy rate was 82.4% in 2011. Almost 54% of the population are Hindus , approx. 43% are Sikhs , approx. 2% are Muslims and less than 1% belong to another or no religion. Children under 6 years of age are 11.1% of the population.
