The church

The Protestant village church Ballstedt is in the municipality of Ballstedt in the district of Weimarer Land in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish association of Ramsla in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The village church is located on the southern edge of the Rundlingdorf Ballstedt. The village was once on the Via Regia . Today the provincial road 1055 runs through the village.

history

The church, built in the late Gothic style in 1500 , burned down in 1637 due to the war and was rebuilt between 1700 and 1701. It is crowned by a roof turret.

A renovation took place in 1988, which was followed by a thorough renovation of the church and its surroundings in 1999–2001 . The organ , a work of the organ builder Hermann Kopp (Bürgel), was restored in 2006 by the organ building company Schönefeld from Stadtilm.

The church and the cemetery have been included in the list of monuments of the Weimarer Land district.
