The village church of Goldenstädt in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district was first mentioned in a document in the 14th century. However, the 2016 Dehio manual names the 15th century as the construction time of the current building , possibly because of the late Gothic windows. The Goldenstädter Church, to which Fahrbinde and Friedrichsmoor also belong, is assigned to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Uelitz . It belongs to the Wismar Propstei in the Mecklenburg parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

architecture

The simple hall building has a three-sided east end. The thick walls, up to 1.30 m thick, are typical of medieval churches. The west facade is made of field stone up to eaves level, above it of half-timbering . The walls of the walled-up ogival west portal are plastered. The side walls are built in roughly equal parts from bricks in the medieval monastery format and from field stone. The window and door frames are also made of brick, but at least partially renewed later. The framework of the gable is filled with modern small and regular bricks.

Bell cage and bell

On the west side there is a small wooden belfry that was built in 1935. The pastor Christian Delius donated a small bell in 1681. (Pastor Delius was buried in the church.) She is still in the belfry today.

Furnishing

The equipment is simple. The altar and the pulpit were built after the Thirty Years War , according to Dehio around 1700.

At the pulpit, the twisted columns catch the eye.

The altar shows carved cheeks and a crucifix as a coronation. The altarpiece was found in the attic of the church. It was restored in 1935 and returned to its destination. The Last Judgment with Christ as the judge of the world is depicted on the altarpiece.
