The Haseloff village church is a late Romanesque hall church from the first half of the 13th century in the Haseloff district of the municipality of Mühlenfließ in the Brandenburg district of Potsdam-Mittelmark . The church belongs to the parish of Niemegk of the church district Mittelmark-Brandenburg in the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and can be visited after registration.

History and architecture

The rectangular stone building with apse received an almost square late Gothic tower. The tower was given a brick upper floor and pointed helmet in the late 19th century. The building was renovated in the 1960s. In 2003, during excavations inside the church, the foundations of a plank structure from the second half of the 12th century were discovered, the wooden predecessor of today's church, which was probably built by Scandinavian builders according to their building tradition. In 2016 an extensive exterior renovation of the church took place, whereby the roof was re-covered and the masonry was renovated outside and inside. This work was supported by the German Foundation for Monument Protection and the State of Brandenburg , among others .

Two small apse windows with broad arches have been preserved (the third has been changed), the tall windows on the long sides have been enlarged. On the outer front side of the apse there is a bowl dig , which is rare in the Fläming area . Inside, the building is finished with a wooden beam ceiling, and a western gallery is believed to be from 1881.

Furnishing

The furnishings consist of a simple altarpiece from the second half of the 18th century with a column structure and an oval painting of the Entombment, underneath a picture of the Last Supper. The wooden baptism from 1853 comes from Niemegk. In the apse there is a late-Gothic, flat-arched sacrament niche with a grooved brick frame and original closure. The organ is a work by Friedrich Wilhelm Lobbes from 1894 with seven stops on a manual and pedal , which was rebuilt by Alexander Schuke in 1953 and restored by the same company in 1985.
