The Lichtenau village church is located in the Lichtenau district of the city of Neustadt an der Orla in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Kahla Hummelshain in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church with roof tower was built in 1730. When the church was built, the previous structure was largely incorporated into the structure. Inside there are three-sided galleries with a pulpit altar . The hall is furnished with a flat ceiling and chairs.

The crucifix , the altar and the figure of Christ date from the 17th century. The organ is housed on the gallery. The bell dates from 1920.
