The village church Mödlich is a Protestant church in the inhabited part of the municipality Mödlich of the municipality Lenzerwische of the office Lenzen-Elbtalaue in the district of Prignitz in Brandenburg .

architecture

The church is no longer in its original state due to later changes. The flat-roofed brick hall is complemented by a slightly drawn-in choir with a straight end. Above the east wall there is a rich pillar gable with coupled panels and on the south side of the choir a small square vestibule with a panel gable, which has since been renewed. A wooden tower was later added directly to the west wall.

history

The building is dated to the year 1486 in the monument database of the state of Brandenburg. The Dehio manual , however, only gives the end of the 15th century as the date of origin. The wooden baptism is dated to 1602, the pulpit to 1604 and the altarpiece on the south wall to 1607. The church tower was added in 1659. The first restoration took place in 1893/1894. The current altarpiece also dates from 1894. The most recent restoration took place between 1996 and 1998.
