The Roman Catholic village church Persingen ( Dutch Dorpskerk ; also called Sint Joriskapel , German  St. Georgskapelle ) is located in the village of the same name in the Dutch municipality of Berg en Dal in the province of Gelderland .

history

The late Gothic village church was built in the 15th century and was originally dedicated to St. Dionysius . It has a flat-roofed single-nave nave, which is adjoined by a higher choir, closed on three sides, with a ribbed vault. The 17th century sacristy on the south side was reconstructed in 1996.

1952-54 the building was restored by the Catholic Verennersvereniging and then a portrait of St. George ( Sint Joris ), to whom the church was consecrated, was erected here.
