The church

The Protestant village church of Söllmnitz is located in the Söllmnitz district of the independent city of Gera in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Pölzig, Dorna, Röpsen and Roschütz in the Gera parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In the 16th century, the hall church was built with a polygonal closed choir extending to the south . Windows without tracery with flat pointed arches and buttresses are attached to the choir . On the roof of the nave is located skylights . Three-sided galleries and stalls are built into the church . There is an organ in the church .

In 2001 the roof ridge had to be secured in an emergency.
