The church

The Stanau village church in Stanau in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia dates back to the 12th century. It belongs to the regional parish Tälerdörfer in the Eisenberg parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The Romanesque church has been equipped with a baroque organ from the workshop of the Silbermann student Christian Ernst Friederici from Gera since 1888 . The parish bought it cheaply from the neighboring parish of Ottendorf .

At the end of 1980 the church was restored through donations, also from the community, and saved from disintegration.

Since 2002, the villages of Trockenborn and Stanau have formed a common parish together with Breitenhain and Strößwitz.
