The Thierschneck village church is located in the Thierschneck municipality in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Dorndorf-Eckolstädt in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The village church is in the center of the Rundlingsdorf .

history

The church is predominantly of Romanesque substance. After a devastating fire in 1763, it was extensively renovated. 1811–1812 it received its current form with an extended nave . The large windows and the roof turret on the west gable date from this time.

inner space

The ship has a gallery and a pulpit altar . At the beginning of the 20th century, the altar was changed in line with the Art Nouveau trend. The interior was completely painted in 1980.

The organ has eight registers and is from the 18th century. It was most likely built by Justinus Ehrenfried Gerhardt . Restored again in 2004–2008.

The linden tree in front of the church

In the square in front of the church there is a magnificent linden tree . It commemorates the end of the Seven Years' War .
