The Evangelical-Lutheran village church Untermaßfeld is in the municipality Untermaßfeld in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thuringia .

history

The previous church was destroyed in the Peasants' War and then rebuilt immediately. In 1546 the Protestant faith was introduced in Untermaßfeld. In 1639 the church was destroyed in the war . After the reconstruction, the church was consecrated in 1709.

In 1938 and 1939, according to the ideological program of the German Christians , the interior was redesigned as a pilot project into a divine celebration hall. Since then, the larger than life sculptures “ Fighter ” and “ Mother ” have dominated the church.
