The Protestant village church Zixdorf is a medieval, several times rebuilt hall church in the Zixdorf district of Rabenstein / Fläming in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the parish Garrey in the parish of Niemegk in the parish of Mittelmark-Brandenburg of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and can be visited after registration.

History and architecture

The village church Zixdorf is a rectangular field stone building, in the core probably from the 13th / 14th. Century, after Engeser / Stehr rebuilt several times and rebuilt towards the end of the 17th century with a round east end. The carefully worked field stone blocks in the lower two thirds of the rising masonry indicate that at least this part was built in the 13th and 14th centuries. Suspect century. Above this, the masonry is more irregular and layers can still be seen in some areas.

Above the west gable is a square timber-framed roof tower with a solid west wall, an octagonal tower and a curved hood , which was renewed in 1905; at the same time the western vestibule was built and the window openings were renewed. A restoration was carried out in 1995. On the south side there is a pointed arched stone portal, small raised windows can still be seen. The eastern cladding of the portal probably comes from the original structure, the western one from a renovation in the Gothic period. A preserved sacrament niche in the north side of the choir suggests that at least this part of the choir is still medieval. The interior is provided with a barrel vault and wooden fixtures as well as a painting from 1905, the north and west galleries also date from this period.

Furnishing

A wooden altarpiece from the end of the 17th century shows an altarpiece with a depiction of the Last Supper between columns; oval fields with a painted Gethsemani scene on the left and the crucifixion group on the right; the cheeks were probably added in 1905. The wooden polygonal pulpit is dated to 1690. The baptism of 1694 is made of wood with a renewed frame. A parsonage from the end of the 17th century stands on the north wall of the choir. The organ front is painted on the west gallery, the interior of the organ was lost in the period after the Second World War.
