The village museum in the Pfannerhaus is a local museum in the municipality of Roßhaupten in the Ostallgäu district . In addition, changing art exhibitions take place there.

The house bears the name of the Pfanner family, who have been based in Roßhaupten since around 1860. Georg Pfanner came to Alois Haggenmiller, who ran one of the first cheese dairies in town, as a cheese dairy assistant . Soon afterwards, Georg Pfanner became a milk buyer and owned his own cheese dairies, including purchasing what is now the Pfannerhaus for this purpose in 1894. The house remained in the possession of the Pfanner family for generations before the Roßhaupten community acquired the building from the last owner, Xaver Pfanner, in 1998.

The museum, which is part of the Auerbergland Museum Association, deals with important personalities of Roßhaupt. Johann Jakob Herkomer was a respected builder, painter, sculptor and plasterer of the baroque era . Among other things, he built the architecturally sophisticated Chapel of the Seven Sorrows in Sameister , his birthplace. Caspar Tieffenbrucker is considered one of the most important lute and violin makers of the 16th century, Roman Anton Boos was a nationally recognized sculptor.

In addition, the museum deals with the unique topic of the artificial flower industry in the post-war period and with the fate of the Sudeten Germans. It gives insights into the living culture of earlier times and describes the work environment and tools of old professions, agriculture and beekeeping . The museum also houses the Via Claudia Augusta information center.
