The Dorsloh desert lies on the edge of a wooded area on the Sintfeld , on what is now the Wohlbedacht estate that belongs to Bad Wünnenberg , about halfway south-east of Fürstenberg in the direction of Essentho . A small spring provides water to this day that people used for themselves in the past.

history

The medieval place was first mentioned in the 9th century. From the finds of broken glass it was concluded that people lived in Dorslon as early as the 8th century. Dorslon was a church place, with the church and cemetery about 2 kilometers north of the place. The Corvey Abbey , the Holthausen Abbey and the noblemen von Büren owned properties in the village . Feuds destroyed the church town of Dorslon in the 14th century. In this context , the nearby Dalheim Monastery was given goods in the village, so some stones from the church were used to build the monastery complex in Dalheim. The Graf von Westphalen bought the property of the Holthausen monastery in the 15th century and tried to repopulate the lost place with Fürstenberg farmers. This did not succeed, however, and so at the end of the 18th century the Wohlbedacht estate was built on the site as an outbuilding .
