Dorsum (astrogeology)
Dorsum (plural dorsa , from Latin dorsum = back) is a term used in astrogeology for surface structures of planets , satellites or asteroids similar to ridge-like surfaces . It is a purely morphological name, so it says nothing about its origin. Well-known examples are Eumenides Dorsum and Schiaparelli Dorsum on the planet Mars and the Dorsum Termier on the Earth's moon.
Designations
