from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dosenerham (also: Doserham or Heddenham) is a residential area in the East Frisian district of Wittmund . It belongs to the Abickhafe district of Friedeburg .

The place name Dosenerham refers to the neighboring village of Dose . The name Heddenham goes back to Heddo Cankena, who probably built a castle in the village in the late Middle Ages . This later fell into disrepair, which originally consisted of two farms, and in the 19th century only one farm. Another farm belonging to Dosenerham was in Etzel . All three were endowed with noble rights. In 1823 five people lived in Dosenerham. There are no remains of the castle today. An archaeological investigation has not yet taken place.

In the documents the place is referred to as in den Hamb (1602), in der Hamm (1719), Dooser Hamm (1823), Heddenhamm (1824) and Dooser Hamrich (1825).
