Douangdeuane Bounyavong

Douangdeuane Bounyavong ( Lao ດວງ ເດືອນ ບຸນ ຍາ ວົງ ສ, ALA-LC Dūangdư̄an Bunyāvong , born June 11, 1947 ), also known by her maiden name Douangdeuane Viravong , writer's name Dok Ked (Dō̜kkēt) , is a Laotian author. She is the widow of Outhine Bounyavong .

She writes poems, novels, textbooks on Laotian textiles and writings down orally transmitted folk tales , among them the most famous work Kam Pha Phi Noi (“The little orphan and the ghost”). She is committed to literacy and operates a. a. a publishing house and bookstore selling children's books in the Lao language .

In 2005 she received the Fukukoa Art and Culture Prize .
