Drünkards was an Italian thrash metal band from Bergamo that was founded in 1985 and split up in 1990.

history

The band was founded in 1985 and consisted of singer and guitarist Giancarlo "Jun" Carminati, bassist Germano Minuti and the brothers Marco (electric guitar) and Andrea Veturri. After two demos were released with Drünkards (1985) and Lethal to Weak Ones (1986), Luigi Mazzesi , managing director of LM Records , became aware of the band and signed them. The band could be heard on the compilation Heavy Rendezvous with the song Trooper of Death . Then the band went to the Much More Music Studios in Florence to record their debut album Drünkards in two sessions . The album was released across Europe with an edition of 2000 copies. This was followed by appearances all over Italy together with bands like Skanners . In the summer of 1989, the band went back to the studio to record the second album No Trace of Sanity . The release was delayed several times, so that the band broke up in January 1990. In 1991 the band appeared on LM Records' Italy 1991 compilation with the song A Woman Like You . In 2009 the previously unreleased album No Trace of Sanity was remastered by Simone Pradin at Zero Crossing Music Studio in Mozzo and released via LM Records in the second half of 2009. The album contained the nine original songs, six bonus songs. Five of these songs were from the Lethal to Weak Ones demo .

style

The band plays classic Thrash Metal, with influences from hard rock being audible on the second album No Trace of Sanity .
