Heinrich Mehlig country house

The Heinrich Mehlig country house is located in the Oberlößnitz district of the Saxon town of Radebeul , in Augustusweg 77. It was built in 1902 by the carpenter Heinrich Mehlig based on a design by the architect and site manager Oskar Menzel .

description

The “picturesquely laid out”, two-storey country house , including the enclosure, is now a listed building . The plastered building standing on a stone base has an irregular, hipped tiled roof. In the main view there is a curved gable on the right in front of the roof.

The differently shaped windows of the house are framed by sandstone. The upper floor of the left half of the house is adorned by half-timbering in the style of German architecture around 1500 . The date 1902 can be found on a half-timbered threshold along with the initials HM .

The enclosure is a green wooden fence between pillars with a tile covering in the form of a gable roof. The brick and plastered entrance gate is round-arched, with a double-winged, segment-arched lath gate. Like the fence, this was renewed after 1995. Outside, the archway is covered with red beaver tail tiles like the fence posts, including the corresponding ridge tiles. While to the right of the archway there is a simple plaster wall with a sandstone cover, a console with a sandstone ellipsoid appears on the left.
