South East Africa Ltd. was a company to finance the exploitation of gold deposits in South Africa .

history

It was opened in 1896 by Carl Peters, who was deposed in 1892 from the office of Reich Commissioner for the Kilimanjaro area of the German Colony of German East Africa, initially under the name of Dr. Carl Peters Estates and Exploration Co. founded after he had fled there in order to avoid prosecution by the German judiciary for the murders and other crimes in the colony after his dishonorable discharge as a civil servant from the Reich Service in 1897.

The company financed and operated gold mining in South Africa . In several trips, this company explored other gold deposits in southern Rhodesia and Angola . From 1899 to 1905, Peters made six trips to Angola and Zimbabwe for his company. In 1910 he sold the company.
