Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation

The Dr. The Hans Riegel Foundation is a foundation established in 1987 and based in Bonn . The founder was Hans Riegel junior , co-owner of the HARIBO group of companies. On December 6, 2000, it was recognized as a non-profit , public foundation under civil law .

The purposes of the foundation are "Education, upbringing, training - in general", "Science and research - in general", "Art and culture - in general" and "Charitable purposes". The foundation's primary purpose is to promote school and vocational training for young people in the MINT subjects .

The foundation aims to support young people in shaping their future.

The advisory board includes, among others, Riegel's long-time friend and HARIBO advertising partner Thomas Gottschalk .

In 2006, in cooperation between the University of Bonn and the foundation, the Dr. Hans Riegel Specialist Awards launched. The Dr. Hans Riegel Specialist Awards are intended to recognize pre-academic achievements by students and to find and promote talent and inspire them to find suitable MINT educational pathways.

In March 2017, the foundation made a contribution to the preservation of the Deutsches Museum Bonn by promising to support the basic funding with 28,000 euros in 2018 and 100,000 euros each in 2019 and 2020.
