Dr. Reinfried Pohl Foundation

The Dr. Reinfried Pohl Foundation was founded on October 6, 1997 by Reinfried Pohl . The foundation is based in Marburg, Hesse, as a foundation under civil law with legal capacity .

Foundation purpose

The purpose of the foundation is to promote science and research. In particular, the departments of medicine and law at the Philipps University of Marburg are funded. The chairman of the board is Udo Corts . In February 2011, the foundation was named Foundation of the Month by the Hessian state government.

Foundation projects

  • A seven-year professorship for cardioprevention in the medical department
  • Research Professorship for Molecular Cardiology
  • Teaching center for the medical department
    This teaching center is unusual in that, in addition to a practice operating room, it also includes a replica family doctor's practice and a patient's apartment as well as a daycare center for the children of the students and staff. Without the support of the foundation, this training center could not have been realized.
  • Cancer advice center
    There, psychologists, social pedagogues and social workers look after patients and their relatives.
  • Significant support of the research center for financial services law
  • Provision of more than 500 laptops for the students of the legal informatics research center
  • Seating in the old auditorium and restoration of the organ there

Several million euros have been raised for the projects so far.
