The Dr Pepper Company was officially incorporated as the Dr Pepper Company Inc. on July 6, 1923 .

The Dr Pepper Company was the fourth largest soft drink company in the United States in 1983 with a 6.9 percent market share .

history

On September 8, 1898, bought Southwestern Soda Fountain Company of Dallas the production rights from the 1891 by Wade B. Morrison and Robert S. Lazenby founded Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Works , selling Dr Pepper syrup.

On September 25, 1902, Southwestern Soda Fountain changed its name to Dr Pepper Company .

The Circle "A" Corporation bought in 1920, the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Works and was the only bottler of Dr Pepper concentrate.

On June 12, 1923, Circle "A" Corporation went  bankrupt because of rising commodity prices and high bottling taxes.

On July 6, 1923, the remnants of the old Dr Pepper Company and the Circle "A" Corporation were officially integrated into the (new) Dr Pepper Company in Dallas  . John B. O'Hara , the son-in-law of Robert S. Lazenby , became managing director of the new company.

In 1986 the company was dissolved due to the merger with the Seven Up Company and Dr Pepper / Seven Up Inc. was formed.

Business activity

The company sold soft drink concentrates to independent franchise bottlers. These licensed bottlers added water, filled the mixture and finally sold the finished product.
