The Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. is an American company in the beverage industry based in Plano (Texas) .

history

In 1995 Dr Pepper / Seven Up was acquired by the British confectionery group Cadbury Schweppes and was a subsidiary of the group until 2008 .

In 2003 the North American beverages division Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages of the Cadbury Schweppes Group was created from the merger of Dr Pepper / Seven Up, the Snapple Beverage Group, Mott's LLP and Bebidas Mexico.

In 2008 Cadbury Schweppes spun off the beverages division from the group and the Dr Pepper Snapple Group was created. That same year, Dr Pepper Snapple Group acquired a minority stake in Big Red, Inc. , the maker of Big Red , NuGrape , Nesbitt's, and other beverage brands.

The company is one of the best performing scholarship providers in the United States (see also: Study Financing and Aid in the United States ).
