Current neuroses

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In contrast to the classical psychoneuroses described by Freud , actual neuroses represent a disease concept that has no causation ( conflicts and psychological trauma ) dating back to early childhood . Rather, the appearance of symptoms is preceded by a current cause in direct experience.

to form

Freud distinguished three forms of actual neurosis:

He contrasted these with the psychoneuroses, as Freud also called these neuroses that could be treated with his analytical method. Since current neuroses develop in a different way, an analytical treatment process to uncover harmful early childhood experiences is not necessary.

meaning

Since the actual neurosis offered no point of attack for psychoanalytic treatment, this concept was not further developed by Freud and was thus forgotten. According to his later concept, he contrasted the narcissistic neuroses with the transference neuroses from the perspective of his psychoanalytic techniques of treatment . However, actual neuroses are again used today as a model for the development of physical symptoms by psychosomatics, e.g. B. used in the context of theories to understand functional syndromes . The ideas of resomatization developed by Max Schur in 1955 are also used here. Freud's forgotten model is therefore once again described as “very topical” in combination with that of Max Schur.
