Military background

Karin Enström was born in 1966 as Karin Märta Elisabeth Landerholm. After compulsory school, she went straight to the Swedish military and trained as an officer in the navy in Karlskrona from 1985 to 1987 . She also completed the allmänna course (German basic course ) at the Krigshögskolan of the Navy in 1988 and the listening course (German higher course ) in 1993 . From 1987 to 1998 she was part of the unit KA1 / Amf1 of the Swedish Navy stationed in Vaxholm .

Political career

From 1991 to 1992 Karin Enström was Secretary General of the Moderata ungdomsförbundet , the youth association of the Moderata samlingspartiet, and from 1993 to 1994 she worked as an expert in the Ministry of Industry. From 1998 she was a member of the Swedish Parliament and between 1998 and 2000 and 1998 and 2010, respectively, a deputy member of the Constitutional Committee and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. She was a substitute member of the Judiciary Committee between 2000 and 2002 and of the Social Affairs Committee between 2000 and 2006.
