Cristina Husmark Pehrsson (born April 15, 1947 in Uddevalla ) is a Swedish politician . From October 2006 to October 2010 she was Minister for Social Security Affairs . She is married and has three children.

Cristina Husmark Pehrsson graduated from school in 1969 as a nurse in Lund and then practiced this profession. In the 1970s she joined the Moderata samlingspartiet . At first she got involved at the community level before she was elected to the Landsting in 1994 and finally moved into the Reichstag in 1998. There she mainly dealt with social issues. After the victory of the civic alliance for Sweden in the Reichstag election in 2006 , she was appointed Minister for Social Security Affairs in the Ministry of Social Affairs ( socialförsäkringsminister ) in the government of Prime Minister Reinfeldt . She held this position until her resignation in October 2010.
