Ewa Björling (born May 3, 1961 in Ekerö , Stockholm Province ) is a Swedish politician of the Moderata samlingspartiet and was Minister of Commerce in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2007 to 2014 . From 2010 to 2014 she was also Minister for Nordic Cooperation.

After attending school, she studied dentistry at the Karolinska Institute and after completing her studies in 1987 and being admitted in 1988, she started working as an oral surgeon . After receiving her doctorate as a Philosophiae Doctor of Medicine (Ph.D. Medicine), she became an associate professor at the Karolinska Institute in 1999 .

In 1999 she began her political career in local politics and was a member of the municipal council of Ekerö from 1999 to 2006, where she initially also chaired the committee for social welfare from 1999 to 2002. Between 2005 and 2006 she was also chairwoman of the Ekerö municipal council.

In the Reichstag elections on September 15, 2002 , she was elected for the first time as a member of the Reichstag as a candidate for the Moderate Collection Party. During her parliamentary membership, she was a member of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Deputy Member of the Education Committee between 2002 and 2007 . After the Reichstag elections on September 17, 2006 , she was also a deputy member of the Advisory Council for Foreign Affairs and the Committee on the Constitution of Sweden until 2007 .
