Tobias Kjell Bertil Krantz (born April 7, 1971 ) is a Swedish politician. The member of the Folkpartiet liberalerna was from June 2009 to October 2010 in the government of Fredrik Reinfeldt, Minister for Higher Education and Research in the Ministry of Education.

Life

Krantz grew up in Bankeryd near Jönköping . He is married to Anna Grönlund Krantz , a former member of the Reichstag and also a member of the Folkpartiet. They have a son together.

From 1996 to 1999 Krantz was deputy chairman of the youth organization of the Folkpartiet. He also wrote for Upsala Nya Tidning newspaper .

In 2002 Krantz received his doctorate from Uppsala University with a thesis on the discussion of regional divisions in Sweden. In the Constitutional Committee, he was also very critical of the fact that the then Prime Minister of Sweden , Göran Persson , received an honorary doctorate in medicine from Örebro University . Shortly before, Persson had raised the university in Örebro to the rank of university against the recommendation of a commission of experts and received an honorary doctorate from there as a thank you.

Krantz has been a member of the Reichstag from the constituency of Jönköpings län since 2002 . There he was initially a member of the Constitutional Committee from 2002 to 2006, before moving to the Social Insurance Committee in 2006/2007 and to the Social Committee from 2007 to 2009. He was also elected as a representative to the Civil Committee, the Culture Committee, the Economic Committee and the EU Committee.
