Peter Norman (economist)

Peter Erik Norman (born April 3, 1958 ) is a Swedish economist , politician of the Moderata samlingspartiet and was Minister for Financial Market Affairs in the Ministry of Finance from 2010 to 2014 .

Norman attended high school in Stockholm . From 1981 to 1984 he studied economics at Stockholm University and obtained a bachelor's degree .

He has been working in the financial sector since 1985. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Carnegie Investment Bank and from 1994 to 1996 Vice Director of the Swedish Reichsbank . After that he was CEO of the investment bank Alfred Berg until 1999 . From 2000 until his appointment as minister he was President of the state government agency Sjunde AP-fonden and from November 2008 to May 2009 he was also Chairman of the Management Board of the investment company Svolder and the finance company Max Matthiesen . He was also Vice Chairman of the Nuclear Waste Fund. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Stockholm University.

Peter Norman is married with four children and lives in Stockholm.
