Åsa-Britt Maria Torstensson (born March 25, 1958 ) is a Swedish politician . She belongs to the Center Party and was a member of the Swedish parliament from 1998 to 2014 . From October 2006 to October 2010 she was Minister of Infrastructure in the government of Prime Minister Reinfeldt .

Torstensson studied social affairs at Östersund University . She then worked at various hospitals and as a school curator.

At the age of 15 she joined the youth organization of the Center Party. In 1994 she was elected to the city ​​council in Strömstad , a position that she took over from her father Torsten Torstensson. In 1998 she came to the Reichstag. After the civic alliance for Sweden won the Reichstag elections in 2006 , Åsa Torstensson became Minister of Infrastructure in the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
